Robert Glahe

Rob is a scientist, corporate lawyer and systems manager with a passion for art and writing. Rob was taught painting by his grandfather and did most of his work for family and friends. He began creative writing after law school. Writing became a way to pass the time on long train commutes, where he wrote a full-length novel, not about trains. After becoming a stay-at-home Dad his artwork intensified, leading to active participation in art shows around Chicago for many years. His whimsical themes centering on penguins was a big hit, especially with kids. Writing is now the primary focus, often inspired by his interests in science and law.

Escape From Desolation was inspired by a painting displayed in Omni Magazine in the 1980s. The image stuck in his head until it became a book.
